Working at the diner, she meets Matt, he is hot and sexy and built and a grump, barely speaks to her… But she doesn’t think that he sees her. Until her past comes knocking on her door and it seems that Matt will do everything, he can to keep her and her little girl safe.
Matt has been on the island, recovering from a work injury and the end of his marriage. Now it’s a year later and he quit his job as a detective and ends up working for his friend's security company. Meeting Scarlet seems to be one of the highlights of his stay, but he is too old for her. No matter what he feels it can never happen…Right…
I enjoyed this story. I loved Matt. Especially in the beginning when he couldn’t speak to Scarlet, it was so freaking adorable. Scarlet was an amazing mom, she was doing everything she could to give her daughter what she never had. The chemistry between her and Matt was hot and he was totally so cute with her daughter Daisy. Loved the whole single parent genre and the hint of suspense thrown in makes it a winner for me 😊
