Blurb:
He desires the darkness I hid.
He noticed my fake smiles.
He watched me as I fell apart.
The spark between us should’ve been enough.
Sarge, the faceless man, protects me in a way I’ve never experienced before. But I’ve made mistakes.
Unforgivable mistakes that hurt the people I loved the most. Time and time again, I try to atone for my sins by giving pieces of myself away—until there is nothing left.
Sarge can see me. The real me. He isn’t disgusted by my past, instead he makes it his mission to mend the fragments of my soul. This amazing man, who hides his scarred body from the world, is the only one who can understand my struggle. But he has demons in his past that force him to push me away, igniting consequences we never saw coming.
He was trying to save me, but it might be too late.
My fate was his damnation.
But he chose me anyway.
Now we’ll both burn in the flames.

REVIEW
When I started this book, I felt like I was missing something, but the more I read the more my heart broke for Joslyn.
Definitely on the darker side, but I enjoyed it. My only regret I didn't read the first book 😞
Sarge and Joslyn both had such traumatic pasts and you would think they wouldn't suit but they totally did. Both of them thought they deserved whatever heartache or pain came their way.
Loved that they were not perfect, Joslyn was a deaf character. She was strong and had this happy demeanor but inside she had so much darkness.
Sarge felt like he didn't deserve Joslyn, but he couldn't deny his feelings.
Loved their story, loves the characters and totally got hooked from the get go. My first story with this author and I definitely want more. Two characters both flawed, but come together to heal each other, love it ❤️ 😍 Going back to read book 1 and cannot wait for the next one in this series 😀
